We live in a world of growing globalization, industrialization and, likely most relevant to someone reading this post — computerization. Smart phones, tablets and laptops are quickly replacing landlines, notebooks and desktops. For most of us, this means that how we do things is now largely dictated by when we do things.
This new way of the future doesn't purchase convenience freely. With it comes a new set of challenges that have come with every new, major technology. How do we use this for the good? One way is outreach. This blog, for example, is to be an opportunity — an opportunity to garner a new perspective; a new way of looking at things. Or maybe to experience support. It can be a chance to read how somebody else deals with the challenges of the day. We as Catholics, as Christians or just as people, need each other.
What can I offer? What is it that I can do in order to do my duty? Do I have a duty? What is it that I stand for? These are all things that we should be able to talk about. These are things that we are able to talk about. This blog is meant to be a space and a place for meaningful conversations. A way for outreach and a way to be reached.
Christian Novelist C.S. Lewis once said “the next best thing to being wise oneself is to live in a circle of those who are.” This blog is meant to be a virtual outreach resource. If you feel inclined to author a post, contact me at rylesnelson@yahoo.com. If you want to comment on a particular entry, you can simply write in the box underneath the post.
The blog will be posted to Facebook and Twitter regularly so make sure to keep up and stay in the conversation.
God bless and may St. Paul pray for us!
